Using the RSS was easy to install through Google Reader, and then, I decided I want to have this feature accessible through my blog. Uploading the RSS feed was simple; however, I discovered that from our blogs you can control how many articles under each feed you want to display. The trouble I faced was the location of the icon. The icon was in the address box instead of with the posted feeds. I did not like the way this appeared on the page. I thought it looked confusing and I will probably revert back to Google Reader.
Regarding the content, the feeds were interesting to me and only time will tell, if I will remove them from the blog. The CNN feed is a keeper. I like having direct access to the news. Whenever I am in school, I am not always able to tune in until late at night, at which time it is watching me. I am monitoring Digital Trends to see if it meets my expectations. I was looking for a technology site, which would keep me up to date on the newest innovative gadgets and display articles of new technological discovery. The Learning Network, I found exciting! It is product of the New York Times. The Learning Network provides instruction and learning materials and ideas based on the New York Times’ content. These are just a few of the areas the site shares: Opinion questions, News Quizzes, the Word of the Day, Complete Fill-In or Poetry Pairing, and Test Yourself Questions. For example, the test yourself question for Oct. 25th is in an interactive Math test.
Since, Thanksgiving is upon us, I found a site, which claims to have easy famous recipes. We will see! Lastly, I selected an inspirational site that I thought might be interesting and uplifting. It too offers a variety of features.
See my feeds at the bottom of the page. Hope you find something that you’ll want to add and share.
Thanks for sharing your RSS experience! I love the cooking site epicurious.com! You should really check it out as I am also gathering Turkey day recipes! :)
