Intro to Jennette

My name is Jennette Malone-Culpepper I am currently working on a B.A. in Secondary Education English with a Reading Endorsement. I am married and have a delightful seven-year-old son. Children inspire me, because they create hope. They have the opportunity to harness the future and make the world a better place. Hints: my goal is to give back to the world, to be an educational instrument, which can help to empower today’s youth.
I strive to enjoy life one day at a time. My favorite sporting teams are the Tennessee Titans, Colts, and the Thunders. These three teams are like snapshots of past, present, and future. So keep your eye on the NBA’s Oklahoma Thunders. I think they will become a contender for the championship in 2011. Some other enjoyed interests are reading, writing, music, traveling, cooking, sports events, painting, theatre, and exercising my faith.
My faith is central to me. I have suffered losses and have learned to take refuge in my faith. Whenever I face a new project or a difficult situation, I reflect on my faith statement. "I can do all things through Christ…" (Philippians 4:13). It has seen me through many difficult life-events as well as victories.
Lastly, let me acknowledge I am a novice at creating a blog site. I found it beneficial to visit other blog sites for ideas. There is an IU training website which demonstrates the various functions used in setting up a blog and how to perform other technological computer functions. (http://ittraining.iu.edu).  I investigated different tabs and its usages and I changed my template text to my favorite color; however, I could not alter the background color or texture. Does anyone have any pointers? Creating the Xomotron’s Reflections blog site has sparked my interest and I look forward to blogging and reading all of your blogs, too.
